I think for most of us, this is really only a rhetorical question.
Who doesn’t feel that life and the world has sped up exponentially?
Who doesn’t have a sense of urgency at times around them?
How many of us take the time to truly listen in on a daily basis?
How do we deal with everything happening around us and still maintain our centers and some sense of grounding and inner quiet???
Well, this week I was obviously not really listening to my needs, so my body decided to slow me down in the shape of a serious back ache. There were some early signs which I noticed but didn’t take too seriously and by Friday, I was in enough discomfort to know that this needed attention and that I really needed to rest.
The first thing I did was to try to evaluate what was going on with me mentally and emotionally. Yes, not physically, but mentally and emotionally. The reason for this is that our bodies are really our vessels, containing our essence, through which all emotions and thoughts flow through. It is like a hollow bone through which all of everyday experience flows through. If the hollow bone gets overloaded or stuck in a certain place, this will slow down or stop the flow, causing all kinds of discomfort, whether psychological, emotional or physical. The other thing is, because our physical bodies are the densest part of our energy field, an imbalance will most likely be created in another aspect of our being, such as the emotional body or mental body. Then, as the situation persists, it will filter down into the density of the physical body, often manifesting as pain. If I can recognize the psycho-emotional cause of what is going on, I then have something practical to address that can then shift the entire field quite easily, before becoming chronic and really anchored in my system.
So what I am experiencing, now that I’m attentive to what is going on within me, is the need to SLOW DOWN AND LISTEN. I just feel like going inwards, resting as much as I can, and being my own best friend.
I also received some great energy healing which is helping me immensely AND I am not forgetting to sing to myself. Yes, sound and vibration are very powerful movers and shakers. Using them literally helps the cells relax and rearrange, increasing blood flow, reducing inflammation and hence pain. It’s truly wonderful and so very simple.
