We are all touched by the scenes of destruction and devastation left in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. What an innocent name, but powerful force!
Many of us couldn’t help but stand by and pray that the damage would be minimal and I for one deeply believe in the power of prayer and intention. I believe that it really has an effect if there is enough intensity behind it with enough of us intending for the same thing.
One thing that I have noticed is that once I ACCEPT the situation, I can then somehow partner with it as an ally, rather than putting up a force of resistance. There are so many things that happen in life that are out of our control and I have found that practicing acceptance and acknowledging the situation causes and instant shift both inside of myself and outside in the situation itself. It’s like an instant balm that smoothes out the edges letting me take a breath and allowing new energy and insight to enter the space.
The first thing I do is to remind myself that everything is consciousness, like an entity unto itself, even thoughts and beliefs. Once I realize this, I can then approach this entity and acknowledge its existence, thereby honoring it for what it is.
I usually experience some kind of shift immediately, showing me how to keep in connection and communication with this place. This is an immediate path to healing the situation.
