Has anyone ever asked you this? Nice way to open a conversation isn’t it?
I wonder though, have you ever considered that even though you may not recognize someone right away, that perhaps you do know him or her on some level?
Consider this: the Planet’s biosphere and the atmosphere surrounding her, has been around for billions of years, since her birth. The same air, soil, minerals and other riches have been around for so long, sometimes morphing into this or that compound, but essentially made up of the same ingredients; the same original molecules.
This means that all of the great Masters who have walked the planet have breathed this air, walked on this ground, eaten this food and even their bodies have decomposed back into this Earth. At one time or another, the Planet’s circulatory system has re-circulated the same air that the Buddha, Moses, Jesus, Mohammed, Mother Theresa, Gandhi and even Nelson Mandela have all breathed. That means that you and I have breathed that same air over the years. That also means that we have INSPIRED the air and INSPIRATION of those masters and of each other, present on the planet at this time.
It also means that yes; you and I HAVE met on several occasions, having shared the same air, the same inspiration, the same ideas. The difference between us is the unique individual perspective we each have of all of these ideas. The special way each of us sees and acts on an idea is what makes us so interesting to each other and what enriches our world.
So knowing that we have all already touched each other so deeply, down to our very cells, wouldn’t it be wonderful if we met each other again, knowing that on some level we have already; intimately, with each breath and each step we take on Earth. Wouldn’t it be great to greet each other as family, as brethren, every day, with the familiarity and respect that comes with it?
As we experience this holiday season, let’s take a moment to truly look into each other’s eyes and greet ourselves once again in the process.
